CEO Update on Cemetery View

Dear Woodhill Residents,

Further to the communication in the Chairman’s report at the AGM on our lack of service delivery from City of Tshwane, the recent tragic fire at Cemetery View has necessitated urgent attention be given to this matter.

We held a meeting with the City Mayor Cilliers Brink at the Woodhill clubhouse on Monday 18th September to address service delivery failures and to articulate Woodhill’s approach to resolve. The meeting was amicable and there are clear challenges as articulated by Mayor Brink within CoT that require his intervention for our community to receive the paid for, requisite services.

Addressing of environmental management and pollution, not to mention the health and safety risks associated with informal settlements, was top of the agenda. The tragedy of the recent fire further highlighted and escalated the associated risks. Our actions now are ensuring that all relevant government departments and CoT departments are compelled to attend to the problem. We will continue to work with the authorities to find a humane solution within everyone’s constitutional rights.

Our sincere condolences go out to those families that lost their loved ones in the fire. Please rest assured we are doing everything in our power to resolve these challenges and we ask for your patience and understanding whilst we do so. We will update everyone on our progress.

Please feel free to contact me with any queries you may have in this regard.
