The third hole is the longest par 5 on Woodhill Country Club – total distance of 551 from championship tees, rated as stroke 5. The holes start with a challenging tee shot and a rather narrow landing area when using a driver.
The decision that the players will have to make on this tee shot is to either try and carry the well-placed bunkers to the right of the Fairway or shape the ball towards the narrow landing area to the left of the two bunkers.
The first bunkers start at 225m from the club Tee and the second bunker ends at 290m, which means only a well struck drive will have a chance of carrying the second Bunker.
Longer hitters will have a chance of reaching the green in two after a well-placed drive, while the shorter hitters will have to play a layup shot toward the layup and dogleg area situated 100m short of the green. From this angle the player will then have a clear shot to attack the green.
The green is slightly raised with a large slope pushing the ball to roll towards the left-hand side of the green.
